    J2ME

    Hi there,

Anyone know of a local J2ME formum? Anyone know if the SA carriers (MTN, CellC, etc) apply any jar size limitations for downloads?

     Thank-you,

    Paola

    Re: J2ME

Not sure about local forums ,i know NCode was talking about it or at least looking for one as well. The carriers dont have a limitation imposed by them , the limitation is on the device side. With not all the devices having the same ammount of memory ,you have to code for the LCD. This can become very annoying.

Mmm, the joys of mobile programming.

Carriers have been known to apply limitations, however I understand that SA carriers dont seem to apply them, which is interesting considering bandwidth restrctions. I am not complaining though.

    Cool, thanks for the info.

    Re: J2ME

Another problem with large downloads via the carriers is random disconnections due to signal.

I found that the larger your download, the more the risk of getting disconnecting and starting again.

    What not...if not.

Software is never finished and can always be improved.
